EXPLORE DAY ACTIVITIES
General information
Friday afternoon August 14th we will be breaking everyone out of the conference room and getting out to Explore Cincinnati.
Pre-Arranged Tours
We have set up six prearranged tours, at The Cincinnati Observatory Center the Hidden Brewery Caverns Tour, The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Music Hall, Cathedral Bascilia, and the Downtown Walking Mural Tour.
The Cincinnati Observatory Tour can still be joined but you must purchase a ticket for the bus by midnight Thursday August 13th.
The Hidden Brewery Cavern Tour is now sold out.
The Freedom Center, Music Hall, Cathedral Basilica, and the Walking Mural Tour all still have availability. You must sign up for those by 10:30AM Friday morning August 13th at the Hospitality Desk.
Explore Day guided activities will be hosted by CAS ALCON Ambassadors. These activities will be available to anyone who wants to go on the day of the event (barring maximum capacity for some activities).
Each event will have its own set of details which will require participants to manage the following on their own:
transportation to the activity either via the local mass transit (Southbank Shuttle and/or Cincinnati Connector aka the streetcar) or via cab or Lyft/Uber, or personal transporation.
ticket purchase at the activity itself (if required)
CAS ALCON Ambassadors will guide participants during the activity, on where to go, and give information ahead of time on costs associated and guidance on transportation. Ambassadors cannot provide personal transporation for ALCON guests for liability reasons. Please use public transsport, Uber/Lyft or your own personal vehicle.
The Ambassadors will guide participants once at the location and keep tabs on where participants are, and give guidance on when everyone needs to return to the Marriott prior to the Friday evening activities. Guests are welcome to go off on their own if they wish for dinner Friday evening but the ambassadors will stay with the group at the site of the planned activity until the activity is complete.
Explore Day Ad Hoc Activities
Explore on your own, or based on our recommendations
There are a great number of additional activities to experience and ALCON guests may choose to explore on their own, with a small group of guests, or a CAS leader may decide to lead a spur of the moment activity. These additional activities may also be an option on Thursday or Saturday night for ALCON guests choosing to skip the StarBQ or the Keynote Banquet.
